Product Introduction

Softgel & Capsule Bottle Packaging Line

From Softgel Production to a Finished, Sealed Bottle
For softgel manufacturers, the packaging process is the final link between production and the market.

After softgel capsules have completed drying, polishing and inspection, they need to be transferred into bottles at a controlled quantity, protected against moisture, securely sealed and accurately labeled.
Vitol's Softgel & Capsule Bottle Packaging Line brings these stages together into one automated packaging process.

Designed for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical manufacturers, the line can handle softgel capsules, hard capsules and other applicable solid-dose products, with the equipment configuration selected according to the product and packaging requirements.

Complete Softgel Bottle Packaging Process

Bottle Unscrambling → Bottle Cleaning → Softgel Counting → Bottle Filling → Desiccant Insertion → Capping → Induction Sealing → Labeling

The Softgel Bottle Packaging Line connects the individual machines through an integrated conveying and control system.

Instead of treating counting, capping and labeling as separate operations, the complete line creates a continuous workflow from empty bottle to finished product.

Key Equipment

Automatic Bottle Unscrambler

The Automatic Bottle Unscrambler is the first stage of the bottle packaging process.
Bulk empty bottles are automatically organized and transferred to the production conveyor, providing a continuous supply of correctly oriented bottles for the downstream equipment.
The Automatic Bottle Unscrambler uses photoelectric detection to monitor bottle flow and can automatically control operation when the conveyor is blocked or bottles accumulate.
For pharmaceutical and nutraceutical production, the Automatic Bottle Unscrambler provides stable front-end bottle handling while reducing manual bottle feeding.
The LPB Series provides a typical capacity of 60–120 bottles/min, while the GLP Series High-Speed Bottle Unscrambler provides 50–200 bottles/min, depending on model and bottle specifications.

Jet Bottle Cleaner

Before product filling, the Jet Bottle Cleaner can be integrated into the line to clean the inside of empty bottles with clean compressed air.
The Jet Bottle Cleaner performs bottle positioning, gripping, inversion and air cleaning automatically under PLC and HMI control.
Multiple air nozzles provide internal bottle cleaning, helping remove particles and foreign matter before filling.
The Jet Bottle Cleaner is suitable for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical applications where container cleanliness is an important part of the packaging process.
Typical capacity: 30–120 bottles/min

Softgel Counting & Bottle Filling Machine
The central equipment in the Softgel Bottle Packaging Line is the electronic counting and filling system.
Vitol's SL Series Fully Automatic Electronic Counting Machine is designed for counting and filling softgel capsules, hard capsules, tablets and other applicable solid products.
The Softgel Counting & Bottle Filling Machine uses multi-channel vibration feeding and infrared electronic scanning to separate and count individual products before they are discharged into bottles.
The system supports preset counting quantities from 1 to 9,999 particles per bottle, with 16-channel and 24-channel configurations available in the referenced equipment range.
Applicable capsule specifications include #00–#5, subject to the selected configuration and product characteristics.
The Softgel Counting & Bottle Filling Machine can store product recipes and allows operators to recall production parameters when changing between products.
For manufacturers producing multiple softgel or capsule SKUs, this recipe-based operation can simplify product changeover and improve production consistency.

Automatic Desiccant Inserter

The Automatic Desiccant Inserter provides an automated moisture-protection step after softgel or capsule filling.
The machine integrates desiccant conveying, orientation, detection, positioning, cutting and insertion into one automated process.
The Automatic Desiccant Inserter is suitable for bottled capsules and other solid products where moisture control is required.
The system can be connected directly with the counting machine, capping machine and labeling equipment to maintain continuous bottle flow.
Capacity: 40–100 bottles/min

Automatic Capping Machine

After counting and desiccant insertion, bottles enter the Automatic Capping Machine for cap feeding and tightening.
Different capping configurations can be selected according to bottle and cap design.
For standard pharmaceutical and nutraceutical bottles, the Automatic Capping Machine provides automated positioning and controlled cap tightening.
For higher-speed applications, the SGR10 Multi-Head High-Speed Capping Machine uses a 10-head configuration and has a stated maximum capacity of 250 bottles/min, depending on application conditions.
The Automatic Capping Machine can be integrated with the electronic counting machine, induction sealer and labeling machine as part of a complete Softgel Bottle Packaging Line.

Aluminum Foil Induction Sealing Machine

The Aluminum Foil Induction Sealing Machine provides the bottle's primary induction sealing operation after capping.
Using electromagnetic induction heating, the Aluminum Foil Induction Sealing Machine seals the aluminum foil liner to the bottle opening without direct contact between the heating system and the liner.
This creates a high-integrity seal suitable for many pharmaceutical and nutraceutical bottles.
The Aluminum Foil Induction Sealing Machine supports different bottle materials and can be configured according to bottle diameter, foil specification and production speed.
Maximum stated capacity: 200 bottles/min

Round Bottle Labeling Machine

The final stage of the Softgel Bottle Packaging Line is the Round Bottle Labeling Machine.

The Round Bottle Labeling Machine automatically applies self-adhesive labels to round bottles using PLC control and photoelectric detection.

Its label positioning system helps maintain consistent label placement across continuous production.

The Round Bottle Labeling Machine can operate independently or be integrated with the upstream capping and induction sealing equipment.

Typical capacity: 50–200 bottles/min

Softgel & Capsule Bottle Packaging Line – Quick FAQ

Q1. Can one packaging line handle different softgel sizes and shapes?

Yes. The line can be configured according to softgel size, shape, bottle format and count per bottle, allowing different products to be packaged without using a fixed configuration.

Q2. How do I know what packaging line configuration my softgels need?

The configuration depends on your softgel characteristics, bottle dimensions, count per bottle, target production capacity, cap type, desiccant and sealing requirements. Vitol can evaluate these factors and recommend the appropriate equipment combination.

Q3. Can the packaging line handle both softgels and hard capsules?

Yes. The system can be configured for softgel capsules, hard capsules, HPMC capsules and other countable solid-dose products, subject to the specific product characteristics.

Q4. What if I already have some packaging equipment? Do I need to replace everything?

No. Vitol can supply only the equipment you need and integrate it with suitable existing equipment, depending on the machine interfaces and production requirements.

Q5. Can the packaging line be connected directly to my softgel production process?

Yes. The packaging process can be planned as a downstream solution from softgel production, including inspection, counting, bottle filling, desiccant insertion, capping, induction sealing and labeling.

Q6. How can I match the line capacity with my production target?

The line configuration is selected according to your required bottles per minute, count per bottle and product characteristics. This helps avoid selecting equipment with insufficient capacity or unnecessary overcapacity.

Q7. Can Vitol provide more than individual packaging machines?

Yes. Vitol can support the overall project with equipment selection, line configuration, process flow planning, layout coordination, integration, installation, commissioning, training, FAT and SAT.

Q8. What information do I need to provide before getting a packaging solution?

You only need to provide the softgel size and shape, bottle dimensions, count per bottle and target bottles per minute. Additional packaging requirements can be discussed during the technical evaluation.
